About Dr. Matt Coward

Dr. Matt Coward is board-certified by the American Board of Urology. He has been a Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Atlantic Reproductive Medicine since 2022. He completed a BS in Biology in 2005, and an MD in 2007 both from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He later earned a fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in 2013 from Baylor College of Medicine Houston. He provides services including In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Ovarian Reserve Testing, and Preimplantation Genetic Testing.

Dr. Coward was an Intern at the Department of Surgery from 2007 to 2008 and a Resident Physician in urologic from 2007 to 2012 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. He was an Associate Professor at UNC School of Medicine from 2013 to 2019. He is a Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at UNC Fertility, Raleigh, and a Fellowship Director of UNC Men’s Health and Andrology at UNC Department of Urology, UNC Healthcare, Chapel Hill. He serves as an Associate Professor of Urology with Permanent Tenure, Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Adjunct Associate Professor at UNC School of Medicine.

Dr. Matt received the Awards from the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He received the Academy of Educators Mentor Award and the Castle Connolly Top Doctor award. He has been a Best Doctors in America since 2015. He is a member of the Society for Male Reproductive and Urology, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons, the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the International Society of Sexual Medicine, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, and the American Urologic Association.
