Dr. Michael Opsahl has been a board-certified Obstetrician, Gynecologist, Reproductive Endocrinologist, Infertility Specialist, Founder, and Medical Director at Poma Fertility since 2012. He completed a BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 1974 and an MD from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1978. He also earned a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from the Walter Reed Army Med Center in 1987. He provides treatments including In vitro fertilization, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), Genetic Testing, and Fertility Preservation.
Dr. Opsahl completed a Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Naval Medical Center in 1978. He was a Partner at Seattle Reproductive Medicine in 2011, and a Partner and Owner of Northwest Center for Reproductive Sciences from 2004 to 2011. He served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences from 1987 to 2004 and a Physician at Genetics & IVF Institute from 1994 to 2004. Dr. Opsahl was also a Director of REI at the United States Navy from 1987 to 1994 and a Fellow of REI at the National Institutes of Health from 1985 to 1987.
Dr. Michael is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, and the Pacific Coast Fertility Society. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Opsahl received the Washington State Magazine, Top Doc from 2009 to 2011, the Host Award for best clinical paper, and the Award for best paper by a resident in the Armed Forces District Meeting of ACOG in 1994.
