About Dr. Rafat A. Abbasi
Dr. Rafat A. Abbasi is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, and clinical reproductive immunology. She has been a Physician Partner at Columbia Fertility Associates in Washington, D.C since 2005. She earned an MD from Liaquat University of Health Sciences in Pakistan in 1970 and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Georgetown University Hospital and the Pregnancy Research Branch of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Abbasi is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Abbasi offers services, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), oocyte and embryo cryopreservation, and surrogacy. She completed her residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Towson, Maryland. She has also served on active duty in the U.S. Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Rafat has served on the board of Rainbow Families DC and the LGBTQ+ community. She holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital.
